February 28th marks a significant milestone in my life – not just a birthday or an anniversary, but my "KIDNEYVERSARY." Nine years ago, on this date, I received a precious gift that transformed my life in ways I could have never imagined. 

It all began with Daisy, a remarkable young mother whose generosity and compassion knew no bounds. Like a guardian angel, she selflessly donated one of her kidneys to me. Her decision not only saved my life but also gave me a second chance to truly live.

Before my transplant, life was a daily battle against the limitations imposed by kidney disease, constant fatigue, and the uncertainty of tomorrow were my companions. Each day was a struggle, overshadowed by the harsh reality of my health condition. Then came the call – the call that every transplant recipient eagerly awaits. Daisy's kidney was a perfect match, a beacon of hope amidst the darkness. February 28th, 2015 became the day that marked the beginning of my new life.

The journey since then has been nothing short of miraculous. With each passing year, I have grown stronger and more grateful. I've celebrated milestones that once seemed impossible – birthdays, family gatherings, and even simple moments of joy I had once taken for granted. 

Daisy, though we have never met, you are forever etched in my heart. Your kindness and courage have inspired me to live with purpose and gratitude. Your gift has restored my health and taught me the true meaning of generosity and selflessness. On each "KIDNEYVERSARY," I find myself reflecting on the gift of life and the incredible bond that connects me to Daisy. It's a day filled with mixed emotions – gratitude for the gift of a second chance, awe at the resilience of the human spirit, and a profound sense of indebtedness to my donor and her family. To all those who are awaiting a transplant or have been touched by organ donation, 

I share my story with the hope that it may inspire and offer comfort. There is immense power in the act of giving, and behind every transplant is a story of courage, love, and hope. As I celebrate another year with Daisy's kidney beating strongly within me, I am reminded of the preciousness of life and the importance of cherishing each moment.
